Road Guardian 1 dash cam with rear camera and the phone app showing front and rear views

Why drivers add one

Three moments a dash cam pays for itself.

1

The “it wasn’t me” collision

Rear-end collisions are among the most common insurance claims in Canada. Front and rear 4K footage shows who stopped, who didn’t and when, so a claim doesn’t turn into a 50/50 fault split.

2

The parking-lot scrape

Motion and impact detection keep watching while you’re in the store. A sudden jolt locks the clip so loop recording can’t overwrite it. (Continuous parking recording needs a hardwire kit, sold separately.)

3

Dark rural roads and winter

Enhanced night vision keeps unlit highways and parkades readable after sunset, and the Road Guardian 1 is built to keep recording through cold Canadian mornings.

Buying it as a gift?

Why a dash cam is the gift Dad (or Mom) actually uses.

Why they’ll love it

  • It solves a real worry: an accident that isn’t their fault but can’t be proven.
  • Set-up is three steps and about ten minutes. No app account, no subscription.
  • It works every single drive, quietly, for years. Few gifts get used that often.
  • Pick the Road Guardian 1 and it’s recording the day they open it: the memory card is in the box.

Why you won’t regret it

  • 90-day free returns with a prepaid label, so a December gift can still be exchanged in February.
  • 3-year warranty from a Canadian company you can phone: 1-800-616-4969.
  • Free shipping across Canada, most orders in 2–4 business days, prices in CAD with no duties.
  • Not sure which model? Email support@biglybrothers.com with the car and the driver, and a real person will tell you which one to pick.

Installation

Set up in 3 steps, no mechanic needed.

Mount behind the mirror

Fix the windshield mount and clip the camera on. It sits out of your sightline.

Attach the rear camera

Mount it at the back window and run the included cable to the main unit.

Plug in and drive

Power it from the car charger. It starts recording when the car does and loops automatically.

Want it to record while parked for hours? Add a hardwire kit (sold separately) so it draws power with the engine off.

Questions Canadian drivers ask

Dash cam FAQ

Is a dash cam legal in Canada?

Yes. Dash cams are legal across Canada. Mount it so it doesn’t block your view of the road, and be aware that recording audio of passengers may need their consent in some provinces.

Will my insurance company accept the footage?

Insurers and police routinely review dash cam footage when assessing fault. Footage with a timestamp (and GPS on the Road Guardian 3 and CarPlay) is the clearest evidence you can hand them.

Does it record while the car is parked?

The Road Guardian 1 and 3 use motion and impact detection while parked and lock the clip after a jolt. For continuous recording with the engine off, add a hardwire kit (sold separately).

Will a crash clip get overwritten?

No. The G-sensor detects a sudden jolt and locks the current clip so loop recording can’t erase it.

Do I need a memory card?

The Road Guardian 1 ships with a 128GB card. The other models support cards up to 256GB, sold separately.

Can I watch footage on my phone?

Yes. Every Road Guardian connects to your phone over Wi-Fi so you can preview, download and share clips from the app. Connect while safely parked.

How fast is shipping, and can I return it?

Free shipping across Canada; most orders arrive 2–4 business days after they ship. 90-day free returns with a prepaid label, no restocking fees, and a 3-year warranty from Bigly Brothers.
